About the Author

Jeannette B. Carson is one of the pioneers of the Black Memorabilia movement in this country, and in this capacity, in 1984, helped to organize the first Black Memorabilia show ever held. Realizing the need to provide more information about the collectible items seen in the shows, Black Ethic Collectibles magazine was born in 1987.

As a further means of bringing collectors of Black Memorabilia together, Ms. Carson also founded the National Black Memorabilia Collectors Association and the Black Collectors Hall of Fame. Since she is rated among the experts in this field, she travels nationwide lecturing on the subject and could possibly be available to share her knowledge and a mini exhibit of memorabilia with you.

The Collectors

These major collectors were inducted in the Black Collectors Hall of Fame in 1993. The Black Collectors Hall of Fame was an organization that honored collectors for the preservation of oral, written and visual artifacts by and about people of African dispora. These premiere collectors are Historical Griots who continue to serve as links to the past, and help generations sustain an appreciation for history.
